Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is a very popular procedure that can be done on an outpatient basis. During this procedure, a laser is used to damage the individual hair follicles, thus slowing their ability to re-grow hair. However, this type of hair removal is rarely “permanent”, and occasional maintenance procedures might be needed.

Laser hair removal is common for both men and women. For men, the technique is usually employed for the removal of back, shoulder and in some cases facial hair. For women, legs, underarms and bikini areas are the most commonly cited locations for this procedure.

As with any other type of surgery, laser hair removal does have its risks, although they are minimal. Skin irritation is a commonly cited side effect of this operation. Changes in skin color can also occur as a result.
